Issue:

ATT Broad Band is blocked on Windows XP

Product:

Cyber Snoop 4.0

Applies to:

All Builds

Background
ATT Broad Band is blocked on Windows XP when logging off and logging on as separate users.

Solution:
Disable the following programs from starting when your system starts:

  • BJCFD c:\program files\broadjump\client foundation\cfd.exe
  • ATTBroadbandClient c:\program files\at&t\bbclient\programs\regcon.exe /admincheck
  • ATTBroadbandUpdate c:\program files\at&t\bbclient\programs\saupdate.exe

ATT Broad Band has confirmed that these programs are not necessary for proper operation of your Broadband connection. These programs are known to create conflicts when logging off as one user and on as another.

To disable, you can uninstall the ATTBI software or modify the specific entries in your registry. To modify your registry:

  1. Run regedit.exe from the Start->Run command
  2. Open the key KEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run.
  3. Edit by double clicking on each of the values listed above and modifying the "value data" entry to an invalid value (e.g. rem c:\program files\broadjump\client foundation\cfd.exe).

(NOTE: All other necessary run time permissions are automatically adjusted by the Cyber Snoop installer included with the latest version of Cyber Snoop.)
